Quality Policy for Teacher Training Courses

Europass Foundation has developed, tested and approved a high-quality format for the design and implementation of training courses for teachers and school staff on Erasmus mobility programmes.

The format draws on the Europass Teacher Academy’s 30 years of teaching experience, compiled and organized by Europass Foundation. It is supported by a systematization and ongoing evaluation process aimed at ensuring consistently high standards in content, methods, international experience, and the usefulness and practical applicability of the tools provided.

With this format, the Foundation offers its stakeholders – teachers on mobility programmes, their home schools, European and international bodies committed to continuing professional development, and ultimately the communities and territories they serve – a guarantee of quality, commitment and continuous improvement, ensuring that methods and content translate effectively into practice.

The format’s quality control criteria also define the requirements that network members must meet in order to deliver training courses for teachers and school staff under the Europass Foundation label.

In developing its format, Europass Foundation draws on scientific research in educational science to define its specific aspects, objectives and methods.

In terms of regulations and values, Europass Foundation follows the guidelines adopted by the main international organizations in this sector.

At the global level, it follows the guidelines of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, with special reference to Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 13 (Climate Action). It upholds respect for human rights, environmental sustainability and the promotion of a democratic and inclusive society as guiding principles for all its activities.

At the European level, the guiding principle is lifelong learning as a tool to improve employability and to support the active participation of citizens of all ages in social and democratic life.

More specifically, our Quality Policy adopts the Erasmus+ Programme 2021–2027 as its framework for action, and in particular:

a) Its specific objective

To promote learning mobility of individuals and groups, as well as cooperation, quality, inclusion and equity, excellence, creativity and innovation at the level of organizations and policies in the field of education and training;

b) Its horizontal priorities

Inclusion and diversity, digital transformation, environment and the fight against climate change, and participation in democratic life, common values and civic engagement.

c) The Erasmus Quality Standards

Europass Foundation is committed to regularly reviewing and evaluating its training programmes, to ensure ongoing quality improvements in response to participants’ needs and developments in the European and international educational context.
